Preventive medicine programme of newborns' hip joints ultrasound scan

The aim of the examination is to diagnose hip joints dysplasia, a malformation originating from disorders of development in foetal, perinatal, neonatal and infancy periods that enables fast treatment and prevents problems in the adult life.

The Programme is directed to newborns in 4-16 week of life.

The examinations will be performed four times a month on Fridays and Saturdays by experienced orthopaedists – dr Piotr Szudy and dr Kamil Graboń.

At the consultation the doctor will perform an ultrasound scan of hips, during which you may learn about the health of your baby. If the orthopaedist diagnoses any abnormalities, he will give treatment to the baby and will appoint a check test in the orthopaedic unit.

Examinations are provided free of charge and with no referral.

Examinations are performed by specialists in obstetrics and gynaecology: dr Piotr Piekarski, dr Aleksander Cegielski, dr Aleksander Stadnicki-Kolendo.
